Kylie Minogue - The Tension Tour

In May 2025, I had the joy of photographing Kylie Minogue’s Tension Tour in Los Angeles. This was my first time seeing her on a major world tour. These photographs capture not only the performance, energy, and artistry of the show, but the deep personal connection I’ve felt to Kylie and her music for two decades.

Kylie moves across the stage with such grace and power, a true creative genius who makes every performance feel both intimate and larger than life. These photos are my personal archive of that night, a tribute to an artist who has brought so much light, energy, and inspiration into my life and to many around the world.

Act 1 – Energy & Celebration

The show opened dramatically with “Lights Camera Action,” Kylie rising and descending on a swing inside a brilliant diamond of light, a breathtaking start that set the tone for the entire evening. From there, she took us through beloved hits like “In Your Eyes,”“Get Outta My Way,”“What Do I Have to Do?,”“Come Into My World,” “Good As Gone,” and “Spinning Around” (with a special appearance by Rita Ora). The energy was pure euphoria, turning the arena into one big, joyful dancefloor.

Act 2 – Nostalgia & Heart

The second act brought beautiful emotional depth. The Taboo Interlude into “On a Night Like This” was visually stunning. “Better The Devil You Know” had the whole audience singing and dancing along. She performed “Dancing” (one of my personal favorites), “The Loco-Motion,” and other beloved tracks that felt both nostalgic and fresh. The pacing and storytelling were masterful.

Act 3 – Reflection & Connection

This act moved inward with powerful ballads and acoustic moments. “Hold On to Now,” performed in the center of the arena, was a standout: vulnerable, beautiful, and deeply moving. She also delivered gorgeous snippets of the fan request songs “Two Hearts,” and “The One,” followed by “Say Something,” creating intimate connections with the crowd. The emotional tone then lifted into pure celebration with the Disco medley (“Supernova,” “Real Groove,” Magic,” and “Where Does the DJ Go?”). This was clearly a meaningful moment for Kylie. Disco was released during the pandemic and never received the full tour or live celebration it deserved. Seeing her finally perform these songs live felt like a long-awaited redemption and a joyful release for both her and the audience.

Act 4 – Intensity & Club

The energy rose again with “Confide in Me” and its haunting visuals and fog, followed by an epic arrangement of “Slow” that turned into an incredible dance remix as Kylie ran down the catwalk with her iconic strut and serving looks. “Timebomb” and “Edge of Saturday Night” kept the momentum high.

Act 5 – Iconic Kylie

The show built to a powerful peak with “Tension,” the unstoppable “Can’t Get You Out of My Head,” and the timeless “All the Lovers”, one of my favorite pop songs of all time. These performances felt like pure celebrations of her iconic catalogue and enduring legacy.

Act 6 – Encore

The night closed with an ecstatic encore of “Padam Padam” and “Love at First Sight.” The crowd was loud, wild, and full of love. Seeing Kylie visibly moved, even tearing up toward the end, made the entire experience even more special.
