#303 Crystal Cove Beach Cottages
The Crystal Cove Beach Cottages are a nationally recognized historic district in Crystal Cove State Park of Newport Beach. Built in the 20's through 40's, these cottages provided visitors with a unique oceanfront experience. The state park has preserved this untouched stretch of coast offering a glimpse into California's travel past. They have been featured in many films from the silent days through 1988's 'Beaches' with Bette Midler. You can stay overnight in one of the restored cottages or just enjoy the beautiful beach.
#262 Corona del Mar
Corona del Mar State Beach is one of the hidden treasures of Orange County. Meaning 'Crown of the Sea' in Spanish, this stretch of coast certainly lives up to its name. The beach is separated by dramatic cliffs into 'Big Corona' and 'Little Corona'. Big Corona offers white sandy beach perfect for sunbathing while Little Corona offers stunning rocky coves, tidepools and arches.
#194 Newport Pier
Newport Pier has been an Orange County signature since 1888. It began as a shipping wharf connected to the famous California railway system. In the early 1900's, tourism flourished and Newport Beach became an oceanfront destination. The current wooden pier has been around since 1940 and continues to draw visitors to the Orange Coast.

Balboa Island is a charming community in Newport Beach. Once a natural swampland with sand on the ocean, an island was created for the construction of a village and adjacent harbor. Lots which sold for $250 one hundred years ago now cost millions. Many celebrities during the golden age of Hollywood had boats here including John Wayne, Humphrey Bogart, Mae West and Shirley Temple. Quaint shops and ice cream parlors line the streets and make for a perfect afternoon of relaxation.
#63 Sherman Library and Gardens
The Sherman Library and Gardens is a beautiful botanical garden on the Orange County Coast in Corona del Mar. Orchids, roses, ferns, succulents, tropical vegetation and desert cacti are displayed among beautifully landscaped fountains, patios and grotto's. Though only 2 acres, the Sherman Collection is expansive and stunning.
